Fusion therapeutic life coaching

Fusion is a brief, efficient and effective new model for mental health which combines the best of counselling and coaching.  Holistic in its approach, Fusion recognises that emotional distress is a symptom of underlying imbalances in lifestyle where innate human needs are not being met from the current environment.  When these issues are addressed, anxiety, low mood, depression and other emotional health issues often resolve.

All our Fusion coaches are trained and supervised by Frances Masters, Principal of the Integrated Coaching Academy. www.integratedcoachingacademy.com

Frances is a BACP accredited psychotherapist with over 30 000 hours experience which she has drawn on to create her innovative Fusion Model.  The training is based on a professional manual which enables Fusion coaches to work through a systemised approach in order to deal safely and effectively with:

Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Addiction, Anger, PTSD, Insomnia, OCD.

The Fusion Model focuses on improving wellbeing through psycho-education and practical mindfulness based skills such as the “STOP” system for emotional regulation.  Through the “Wheel of Life”, participants are enabled to identify areas of their life which may not be working for them.  They are then empowered to make the necessary changes in order make things feel better in the relevant areas.

Fusion TLC is at its most effective as an early intervention tool. The Foundation’s aim is to attract as many participants as possible at this level, in order to prevent further deterioration and consequential long term issues for the children in the family.

Counselling for depression

Where a person’s emotional distress is already identified as being severe, it is often too early for them to even start to think about moving forward.  In these circumstances participants are able to first of all access a pre-intervention process of Counselling for Depression.  This is delivered at the Centre by our partners Freeflow Counselling. http://www.freeflowcounsellingservice.co.uk/

Counselling for Depression is a manualised form of psychological therapy, recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Care Excellence (NICE) in the treatment of Depression.  It is based on a person-centred, experiential model and participants can receive up to 20 sessions.

We will always be guided by health professionals involved with the family – GP, Health Visitor, School Nurse – as to which pathway is most appropriate.

Mindfulness based stress reduction

Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better. When we become more aware of the present moment, we begin to experience things that we have been taking for granted.

This is the basis of Mindfulness.

Mindfulness can help us enjoy life more and understand ourselves better. You can take steps to develop it in your own life.

Mindfulness is increasingly being recognised by NICE as being highly effective across a range of psychological disorders including depression, post – natal depression, stress and anxiety.  It is the recommended treatment to prevent previous sufferers from relapsing into depression.

Mindfulness courses offered to date have adopted the approach that parents need to know about depression and recognise it themselves. It takes account of the reality that parents have very little time to themselves and so meditations taught are no longer than 20 minutes.

The courses include mindfulness techniques to use with children encouraging parents to develop their own mindful activities with their children. Often family life is so busy that it is easy to forget the enjoyment in children. Mindful moments with children form an important part of home practice. It is often easy to focus on physical development and intelligence and to forget to enjoy a child in the present moment. Enjoying the child in the moment lets them know they are accepted and valued in the world and can lead to high self-esteem.
